It is almost impossible to describe this huge plateau, one thousand meters above the sea level and surrounded by the Sibillini mountains. Most of the peaks are over two thousand meters high and the highest one is Monte Vettore with 2.476 meters. The valley is a karstic basin, made of porous limestone with the underground reserves of water. It is a marvelous sight in any season, well-worth the 13 kilometers..
