Meadows of Santa Maria in Pantano, a classic walk for those who have never been in the presence of Monte Vettore. Excursion of about 10 km that branches between woods and meadows in full spring energy. We will see nature bursting forth into flower and leaf after winter’s rest, gathering energy to face another season. Given the generous May 2018 rain, the wood oozes with smells and sounds, and who knows, maybe nature will give us some encounter with roe deer. We will enjoy our packed lunch in a beech garden.
The characteristic name ” in Pantano” originates from the presence of a luxuriant source of spring water. Its location identifies one of the historic mountain passes of the Apennine Piceno territory and constituted a reference and a prime destination for travelers, pilgrims, shepherds, laborers and merchants. The entire walk is extremely fascinating because the forests are moving away from their winter hibernation ready for full dress parade.
